Sardine is hiring a backend-focused Staff Software Engineer to own and lead development of its compliance and financial crime prevention platform. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining critical systems for KYC onboarding, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, regulatory reporting, case management, alert pipelines, SAR filing, GoAML submissions, technical strategy, internal tooling, mentoring, and cross-functional work in a regulated domain.
Minimum 7 years of proven experience as a Software Engineer specializing in web backend development and complex system integrations. Track record of delivering high-quality production services, particularly high-throughput data processing and real-time screening systems. Golang proficiency is a significant advantage. Proficient English for casual and formal communication. Nice to have: experience in regulated industries such as financial services, AML/KYC, healthcare, background screening, payment security or similar compliance-driven environments, SAR or STR filing, GoAML or similar reporting formats, case management systems, alert workflows, and investigation tooling.
