Senior Backend Engineer focused on Elixir, joining cross-functional development teams across Remote's product verticals. The role builds tools, APIs and integrations for Remote products using Elixir, Phoenix and Postgres, with React and Next.js on the frontend, GitLab for version control, issue tracking and CI/CD, AWS hosting, and frequent CI-based deployments.
Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable and scalable production systems; practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows and improving them through iteration; ability to think in systems, define specs clearly, break down plans, instrument verification and close quality loops; Postgres or similar database experience; CI/CD experience with GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins or similar; strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency. Nice to have: Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Next.js, and React, Vue or Angular.
Annual salary range for this full-time position is $53,300 to $119,850 USD.
