Engineering Team Leader responsible for the work and dynamics of a small product team of 3-5 backend and frontend engineers. The role spends part of the time on management while actively participating in product development, representing the team, improving team dynamics, providing feedback and coaching, supporting hiring and onboarding, growing direct reports, and helping redesign engineering delivery with autonomous agents and reusable agentic workflows.
Experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 people; extensive backend experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby or functional programming; commitment to Remote's values; strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable and scalable production systems; practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows and improving them through iteration; ability to define specs, break down plans, instrument verification and close quality loops; solid communication skills; solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices; organizational skills with attention to detail; process focus with a kind, people-first approach; ability to inspire others and understand team dynamics; ambition around diversity, equality and inclusion; strong automation and AI fluency.
Annual salary range for this full-time position is $75,450 to $169,700 USD.
