The Senior Software Engineer will help shape Avalara’s global compliance platform, building scalable, secure systems and AI-enabled capabilities that improve automation, customer insight, and engineering velocity. You’ll work across backend and frontend systems, distributed services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and data — staying deeply hands-on while raising standards for architecture, quality, testing, observability, and reliability. You’ll lead technical design, use AI responsibly to accelerate delivery, mentor engineers, and partner with Product, Engineering, and business teams on high-impact problems across Avalara’s global organization.
